Uberman Day 13

Well, as expected, it didn’t last. Last night I turned the alarm off in my sleep and slept 2 hours. Ever since, I’ve been feeling sub-par. I really had trouble staying awake in class today. I can’t connect the ups and downs to anything that I’m doing… it’s completely unpredictable. My body doesn’t seem to be settling down into any kind of daily rhythm, which probably should have happened by this point. The next thing I’m going to try is to take shorter 10 minute naps whenever I feel tired enough that I can’t concentrate. But I’ll never take the naps closer than 1.5 hours from each other.

I wonder if my tiredness is directly related to the quality of sleep I got 24 hours ago. That would make sense because I’m tired today even though I’ve been getting great sleep. I know that when on a monophasic schedule the sleep debt of an all-nighter wouldn’t catch up to me until the next day. I’ll start paying attention to any similarly delayed effects.

As is, I’m about as productive as I would be monophasically, because I’m awake for longer, but can’t concentrate and get as much done during that time. The net effect is that the days drag on FOREVER (have I really only been at school 4 days now?) and I’m kind of stupid and tired. I still occasionally click into 1 or 2 hour long runs where I feel fantastic, but now they’re somewhat fewer and farther between. I bet that now that I’ve better figured out how to take naps amidst the school chaos, I’ll get better quality rest and consequently be more awake.
