Uberman Day 12

I find it fascinating that as soon as I relaxed and told myself that it was ok to sleep in by accident, I stopped accidentally sleeping in. Ever since I had essentially given up, Uberman has suddenly been working. Last night, I automatically woke up before the alarm went off on each of my naps. This morning and afternoon, all of my naps have been successful and refreshing. If I were naive, I’d declare that Uberman is working now, but I’ve been caught off guard too many times during this endeavor to claim that I really have any idea about whether or not I have completely adapted.

That being said, I’ll keep following the schedule because it seems to be working, I’d say I’m at about 80% of my focus/capacity during the day and 30 – 60% at night. Last night I was bored to tears because I didn’t have anything to do for about 4 hours, but now that I’ve bought my schoolbooks, I can work on homework.

Realize that uberman means I can fool around and hang out with friends the entire afternoon and evening, and still have more than enough time to get my homework done at night… this schedule is magical. I also see that this’ll be a really good way to ruin my study habits for life. I don’t think that there is going to be any one project that will hold my attention for more than a week at a time, so the way to fill up my night time will probably come out of over-achieving my CS homework and turning in programs that are far more complicated than necessary. I look forward to seeing the expression on my professors’ faces when they realize that I must not be sleeping.

Obviously, I can dedicate some of my extra time to practicing violin. I just declared a music major today so I have 24-hour access to the practice rooms!
