Polyphasic 3.0

After several days of somewhat disorganized but refreshing sleep, I’m ready to get back on the schedule. On top of sleeping at night, I’ve also been taking naps during the day. Most of them have been successful, but the 8:30 pm nap is really difficult to take, because there is a general high level of energy and often an activity I have to go to.

Two nights ago I tried to get back on uberman by not sleeping the night, but I was too tired for it to work and last night I slept again. For one night at a time, it’s very easy to stay up and not feel the effects if I take naps the next day. Even if uberman doesn’t work out, I think I’ve learned a powerful technique for pulling all-nighters frequently without it considerably affecting my performance.

During my break from uberman, I found that I naturally got very tired right around my nap times. If I couldn’t take the nap, the sleepiness would subside after about a half-hour. At night, I would naturally wake up after about 6 hours of continuous sleep, but could fall back asleep if I tried.

This starts my last-ditch effort at uberman. I’ll try for another week or two, adhering to the schedule as rigorously as I can. I think the third time will be the charm. We’ll see what happens…
